FDA Recalls Birth Control Pills Due to Packaging Error
On Monday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a recall of birth prevention, warning that a packaging misplay could result in unwanted maternity. The recall is for packets of Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol Tablets produced past Apotex Corporation, which may contain the malfunctioning type or number of pills.
"As a result of this packaging error, where a patient does not strike a tablet collectable to a wanting tablet OR that a patient takes a placebo instead of an active voice tablet, loss of efficacy is contingent due to variation in the dosage exhausted," the FDA wrote in its statement.
